Celebrate touchdowns and trick-plays with these Traeger drumsticks. Smoked and saucy, Seton O’Connor from The Dan Patrick Show knows this barbecue meat treat is ready for game day action.
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 2 oz Traeger Kansas City BBQ Rub
- 6 oz Traeger BBQ Sauce
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 2 oz Traeger Kansas City BBQ Rub
- 6 oz Traeger BBQ Sauce
With kitchen shears, trim half of the top and bottom knuckle off the chicken drum to release the tendons and ligaments.
Season each drumstick and let rest for 20 minutes.
When ready to cook, start the Traeger on Smoke with the lid open until the fire is established (4 to 5 minutes). Close the lid and move the temperature to 275 degrees F.
Place the drumsticks on the grate for 30 minutes. Flip and cook for another 30 minutes.
Remove the drumsticks from the grate and place in a pan. Cover with foil and cook for 45 more minutes or until meat reaches an internal temperature of 190 degrees F.
Remove the foil and sauce all drumsticks in the pan. Cook for an additional 15 minutes so sauce can set.
Remove from Traeger and let rest for 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
